Glitter HTV Directions

Thank you for your order! Your glitter iron-on (heat transfer vinyl) arrives cut and weeded, on a clear plastic carrier sheet, ready to apply with a household iron or heat press.

Glitter iron-on directions in 5 steps

What You Need

  • A household iron (no steam) or a heat press
  • A hard, flat surface such as a table or countertop with a thin towel. An ironing board is too soft.
  • A cotton pillowcase, Teflon sheet, or parchment paper to cover the design (optional, but it protects your iron)

How to Apply

  1. Pre-iron your shirt. Press the garment for a few seconds to remove wrinkles and moisture.
  2. Place your design. Lay the iron-on with the clear plastic side up and the glitter side touching the fabric. Use our size chart for placement: about 3" below the neckline on adult shirts, 1.5" to 2" on youth, and 1" to 1.5" on toddler and baby.
  3. Set the heat. 320°F on a heat press, or the cotton (hottest) setting on most irons. Turn the steam off.
  4. Press firmly for 10 seconds. Use firm pressure and cover the entire design. With an iron, press section by section and do not slide the iron back and forth.
  5. Peel while warm. Wait a few seconds, then slowly peel the clear plastic backing up from the garment.
  6. Lifting? Press again. If any part does not stay down, lay the plastic back down and press that spot again for a few more seconds.

Care

  • Wait 24 hours before the first wash
  • Wash inside out on cold, gentle cycle
  • Tumble dry low or hang dry
  • Do not iron directly on the design and do not dry clean
  • No bleach or fabric softener

Best Fabrics

Cotton, polyester, and cotton/poly blends work best. Test on a hidden spot first for nylon, rayon, or heat-sensitive fabrics.
